In 2013, Nustone Products Limited, an online garden product retailer wished to relocate its entire operations from Lincolnshire to Essex. In addition, many aspects of services required significant change and improvement to deliver strong growth.

As the sole owner and Director of the business, he did not have appropriate support at senior level to embark on such a massive project. He appointed TCS to project manage all aspects and took a considerable business risk to trust us to complete all tasks within a very timely manner and exceed all his requirements.

Requirements:
Relocate business operations, source accommodation and recruit additional staff

Results:
Sourced new office accommodation and supported the recruitment process of one office assistant and a General Manager

Requirements:
Reroute ocean freight to optimise transit times and product into stock for onward distribution

Results:
Shipping line was changed through a stringent selection process and a new overseas agency was appointed. The chosen shipping line increased transit times by almost one week and saved the business 8.5% on shipping costs in the first year

Requirements:
Appoint new agent to improve import customs processes, prevent delays and streamline customs clearance procedures, ensuring that past customs delays were considerably reduced.

Results:
Agent selected with expertise in customs clearance processes enabling containers to be cleared upon UK arrival. In the first year of the appointment, there were zero customs delays with over 500 container movements

Source new distribution partner who can also provide storage and fulfilment services

Results:
Appointed a locally based logistics partner to manage all product stocking and onward distribution services.

Increase product automation and the efficiency of the inventory system

Results:
Manual systems were replaced with live and online inventory, this also managed all stock levels. This automated technology then associated all orders that were processed and measured the stock levels of specific products. This in turn optimised the entire supply chain process through online order back to original source, to automate the supply chain and reduce cash outlay for unnecessary product stocking
